It has been a long and difficult time for these businesses, and I will not stop fighting or being the voice for small business in rural Illinois and America. To my executive committee members, past and present, Thank You for giving me the Freedom and the platform to be that voice, even at times when my voice may be fierce to some.To the Hancock County Board Thank You for your Partnership and Collaboration in this effort and we have much work left to do but we will do it together as we should. An incredibly special Thank You to Mayor McCarty, Amy Graham, Mayor Nightingale and Carthage Community Development Committee for their help and support during this process. A very special Thanks to Hancock County Board Member and Hancock County Downstate Committee Chairman Tom Rodgers , who fought alongside me and at times fought me as we battled through a pandemic to bring the Hancock County Downstate Small Business Stabilization Grant Program to reality. Also,a Huge Debt of Gratitude to Sherry Saint and Kathy Jacobs of Nauvoo Vacation Villas who volunteered so many hours in helping Tom and myself, Amy,the Mayors, and the businesses in making this program work.
These are not times for the Faint of Heart. By working together and being Fierce yet Faithful in our mission and purpose together we will come out of this stronger and better because we will be unified in helping our businesses and in preserving, growing, and strengthening the economic vitality of Hancock County. My time in Hancock County may be growing short, but it leaves me with a good feeling knowing that I leave good work and progress and hope behind as a part of my Hancock County story.
