University of Illinois Extension will be holding the next session of Western Illinois Leadership Academy beginning in August and ending in November.
The leadership academy offers participants the opportunity to examine key issues facing our five-county region and to garner a broad understanding of successful initiatives in each of the counties. The program includes unique tours as well as a networking opportunity with other participants and with presenters.
A new focus for 2019, in partnership with the Tracy Family Foundation, is an emphasis on the role and impact of non-profits. Participants will have an opportunity to hear from area non-profits and to look at the importance of volunteering and serving on a non-profit board of directors.
“I am pleased to be working with the Tracy Family Foundation to add insight from the non-profit sector to this program. The success of WILA over the years has been a result of adapting the program to address relevant and emerging issues in our region. Non-profits in our region have a tremendous impact on our economy and our quality of life.” Shelby Crow
Western Illinois Leadership Academy (WILA) will meet 7 times between August 23 and November 15 with a graduation session to be held on November 22.
Cost for the program is $325 and includes all program materials as well as lunch each session.
